Group Stay Cost Splitter
A whole house is quoted as one nightly rate, not as a price per person, which is exactly the number a group cannot compare against anything. This is a plain arithmetic tool that turns one into the other: put in the nightly rate, how many nights, how many people are sharing and the cleaning fee if there is one, and it returns the total, the cost per person and the cost per person per night.
It holds no rate of its own, it is not tied to any house, and nothing you type leaves the page. Rates for a specific house are on that house's own page.

Ways groups do it
Four ways to divide one house rate
| Split style | What it means in practice |

| A straight split | The whole bill divided by the number of people sharing, which is what the tool above does. It is the easiest to run and the easiest to check, and it suits groups who booked as one block rather than as couples and singles. |
| A split by room | The house rate is divided across bedrooms instead of heads, so two people sharing one room pay that room between them. Groups arriving as a mix of couples and solo travellers often prefer this, because it stops a single traveller paying the same as a pair in the same room. |
| A weighted split | A larger primary suite with its own bathroom carries a bigger share than a smaller room down the hall. This one needs the group to agree the weights before anyone puts money down, and it works best when the bedrooms in a house are genuinely different from each other. |
| The house on a straight split, everything else separate | Accommodation stays on a simple per-head number and food, transport and any boat or dinner plans are settled on their own. It keeps the biggest line item clean and stops the whole stay turning into one long shared tab. |
The parts that move the number
Fees, nights and headcount
A cleaning fee is charged once for the stay rather than once per night, so it lands hardest on short stays. Two nights carry the same fee as five, which means the per person per night figure falls as the stay gets longer even when the nightly rate has not moved at all. If you are comparing two houses with different fee structures, compare the per-person total for your actual number of nights, not the headline rate.
A refundable damage deposit is a different thing again. It is money held rather than money spent, so most groups leave it out of the split entirely and handle it as one person fronting it and getting it back. Putting it into the per-person number makes a stay look more expensive than it is.
Headcount is the lever with the most give in it. Because the house rate does not change when one more person sleeps in a room that was already booked, the per-person number falls every time the group grows, right up to the sleeping capacity the owner has confirmed for that house. That is the whole reason a private house can undercut a block of rooms for the same group, and it is also why it is worth settling the guest list before comparing houses rather than after.
